Dr. Monte Luker, Dean of the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies, has just published a new book with Abingdon Academic Press, An Illustrated Guide to the Holy Land for Tour Groups, Students, and Pilgrims, which is the Foreword's Book of the Year Indiefab Gold Winner in the Travel Guides category. The Foreword Reviews’ IndieFab Book of the Year Awards, judged by a select group of librarians and booksellers from around the country, were announced at the American Library Association Annual Conference in Las Vegas this summer. In their opinion, Dr. Luker's book is the best travel guide of the year by an independent author.

And it is I! As of September 2014 I am honored to have been appointed by the president and the chairman of the board to the position of Academic Dean. As such I will be responsible for administering the programs of the Jerusalem Center, which is located at the Olive Tree Hotel near the Rockefeller Museum and the Albright Institute, two landmarks of biblical study in the Holy City. Professors, teachers, pastors and priests are warmly invited to contact me so I can help you organize your next study course in the Holy Land.
Monte Luker is Professor of Hebrew Scriptures in the School of Theology of Lenoir-Rhyne University at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Adjunct Professor of Old Testament at the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies, and Teaching Associate in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of South Carolina.
